Wood Kiln Study
A committee is being struck for a feasibility study to build a wood kiln. Most of the work and ideas exchange will be done by email with maybe two meetings and a site visit or two. The timeline is to have the study presented at the March or April meeting. If you have experience to contribute or can contribute to committee activities please view the Feasibilty Study document.

Homage was held this past June at the Carnegie Gallery. Jurors Anne Mortimer and Steve Irvine selected 69 pieces, representing 43 potters, from the 142 works submitted. In addition to our regular awards a special award, The Carnegie Tribute Award, was created to honour the Carnegie Gallery’s double anniversary- 100 years for the building and 30 years as an artist run gallery.
The Anne Sneath Memorial Best in Show ($1000) awarded to Gise Trauttmansdorff for Heading Out, framed wall piece of handbuilt raku fired kayaks (image on our home page). The Carnegie Tribute Award ($500 and a show at the Carnegie Gallery) went to Cam Fisher for Distill Life, a plate, and whiskey bottle and cup, made from local clay, fired together in an anagama kiln. Honourable Mention ($350) given to Barb Sachs for raku fired Hide and Seek 2. The Memorial Award ($350) went to Scott Barnim for Lustre Plate, luster fired earthenware.
Thanks to our sponsors for their continuous support and generosity in donating their awards. The Pottery Supply House Award ($300 gift certificate) given to Janny Fraser for her wall piece Time Images Horizon. The Tucker’s Pottery Supplies Award ($300 gift certificate) went to Barbara Rose for Salt and Pepper. The Fusion Design Award (year membership and Conference admission) given to Audrey Nimmo for Symi Cats Greece a raku wall piece. The Ontario Craft Council Design Award (year membership) went to Célia Zveibil Brandão for Organic Tray, woodfired.
Thanks to Louise McCann Biennial chair and her committee.
