Barbara Banfield

I am fascinated by the endless possibilities that working with clay demands. I enjoy exploring new ideas through making and taking workshops. I am constantly in awe of that natural world as it is a big source of inspiration for me. Working with a variety of clay, on the wheel, slab, molds and slip casting and exploring the wide range of firing techniques; oxidation, wood firing and reduction the glazing experiments never end. I find it all engaging.

Staci Barron

The Elora Pottery est. 1984 creates stoneware for regular kitchen use. Simple, easy to coordinate with any kitchen. We are available by appointments but live at the studio so access is pretty easy! Looking forward to fulfilling your pottery needs.

Ashley Beecraft

Ashley uses the ceramic process to create a menagerie of misfit beasts. These anthropomorphic creations are inspired by a desire to create companions with personality that easily become part of everyday life. Her work can be found by appointment at her studio in Woodstock.

Emily Blythe

Whimsical critters inspired by nature with an illustrative quality. A whole lot of adorable Mixed with a bit of humour.

Janette Bogart

All my life I have worked with my hands, designing and creating. I love the challenge of making the designs in my head come to life.
I create wheel thrown and handbuilt functional work, rich in colours and texture
that are high fired in a gas kiln. I also make raku fired pieces that will bring beauty into your home. My hope is that my pots are enjoyed and used as much as I enjoyed making them! To see more of my work you can follow me on Instagram or Facebook

Susan Card

Walking through a forest brings a sensual connection to nature through sights, sounds, scents. The painterly surfaces of my ceramics reference the natural world we all enjoy, respect and need to protect. I find painting in a watercolour style on a white porcelain “canvas” allows the greatest colour development in an electric kiln, whereas smoke firing is a traditional technique I use making jewellery. Using atmospheric gas firing, my glazed ceramics become luscious art pieces to be used as tableware.

Rhoni Clarke

I'm just a potter fumbling through all the joys and hardships of life. I make the work I love and I love the work I make. I've always found Birch trees compelling and now they've snuck their way into my mind and onto my pots. These pots all start from a lump of clay, are thrown and trimmed on the wheel, or cut from slabs, and finally hand decorated. I use bright colours and bold patterns because they make me smile, my hope being that if it makes me smile, it will make you smile too.

Jill Crown

A love affair with pottery started many decades ago and I am a long time member of our Guild from Grimsby. My work is both wheel thrown and hand built using a high fired stoneware clay. I have a passion in creating functional pottery for everyday use, entertaining and enjoyment.

Keri Currie

After years in the corporate world I found my calling to create; after night courses and practicing I fell into a rhyme of making. The pottery I create is described by the people who love it as clean, natural and contemporary. Working with coloured clays and reclaimed clays I create functional pieces that are beautiful to look at and wonderful to use. Each piece is hand made and unique.

Christine de Takacsy

I am a functional potter and ceramic artist living and working in Hamilton Ontario. I strive to create work that will catch your eye and inspire you to touch. My functional work is made with the hope that it will complement your every day life and bring a little bit of joy each time it is held.

Wanda Densmore

I have lived in the countryside of Woolwich Township most of my life. I have been inspired by the modest, unpretentious setting, which nurtures my soul and grounds me. Working with clay connects me to the earth and allows me to mine the creative force of nature. My pottery is an extension of my passion, which fulfills me as it touches those who share it. I strive for each creation to be as unique as the person who takes pleasure in it. *My studio is open by appointment*

Christine Devereux

Envision yellow corn fields & rolling green meadows reaching banks of a babbling brook where chirping birds and other wildlife come. This tranquil setting is our family farm where you will find my studio & gift shop, just outside of Brantford. In this peaceful setting, you will find me creating unique handcrafted ware, both functional and home décor using either stoneware or porcelain. My inspiration comes from the memories of my life experiences, the view from my studio windows and my family. Whether I’m working on the wheel, hand building or hand painting on clay, I have found my passion.

ornaments, and award winning sculptures. Each piece is created to celebrate
moments of joy in everyday life. Many designs available, studio open by appt.

Kai Eichenbaum

Shapes found in nature inspire me in the making of my handbuilt pottery. I create functional and decorative pieces from soft clay slabs impressing with stamps of my own design. Textures and patterns in fabrics are inspiration for the designs I carve into my clay stamps. The stoneware clay is glazed and fired in a reduction atmosphere in a gas kiln or in an electric kiln. I have a great appreciation for handmade craft and make my pottery for everyday enjoyment.

Craig Fairley

I am a person who likes order, with things tidily in their place and following a predictable pattern. At the same time, I’m fascinated by a world without human
influence. I suppose that’s why I lean toward free-form decorating and organic motifs on a simple, straightforward pot. I make things that serve a purpose. My hope is that they intrigue, please and entertain through shape, movement, colour and texture. They are to be touched, used, loved and shared.

Suzan Fawcett

My work includes primitive, complex and fantastical sculpture. My website contains images of many, including an effigial series of 25 pieces, watercraft and other boats and free form sculpture. I also offer wearable clay art, miniature paintings on clay and unique clay jewellery. I explore the many ideas that come to me through observation and concept development.

Richard Fisher

Richard Fisher Pottery makes extremely comfortable and functional pottery for
everyday use. We are well known for our very popular kitchen compost pail. Our hand made stoneware is durable and safe in both microwave and dishwasher.

Deborah Friesen

I’m a maker who enjoys making pottery in small batches. I take my time, finding joy on my journey of creating. My go to “white clay” allows the flexibility to decorate my pottery, wherever my imagination leads. My hometown of Simcoe, Ontario is a endless source of inspiration ... giving my pottery a whimsical personality to be enjoyed by sight, touch and usefulness! Wheel thrown ~ hand built ~ Decorative touches: wax resist, brush work, underglaze, transfers, carving, slipwork.

Naomi Frohlich

I love to sculp with clay, and have been working with it for over15 years. I make sculptures of animals, both wild and domestic, and whimsical creations like gnomes and dragons. My work can be found at Textures craftworks on Locke street in Hamilton.

Emily Gabriel

I find a tremendous amount of beauty in the world all around us, a lot of joy in beautiful items and places, and comfort in the tradition of gathering around the table. My work is the aspiration to capture the beauty I see in the world and create everyday functional wares that inspire the heart and elevate daily rituals around the table.

Jill Graham

I make functional pieces in either grey or white stoneware and prefer simple lazing techniques and clean lines to the pieces. My Wren houses are my very favourite pieces because of their whimsy.

Alisa Greve

Natural elements figure prominently in my work notably in the sky blue and pale green interior of my pots and in the varied leaf motifs in the exterior surface decoration. My pottery is both unique and functional. It is simple in design but intricate in decoration. It is made to be used and enjoyed every day. It reflects my love of nature and of beautiful things and finally my belief that everyday objects should bring joy and happiness to one’s life.

Niki Groulx

My work explores the beauty in the use of everyday objects, adding meaning to rituals and routines. Working primarily in stoneware I create functional and decorative ceramics with adverse forms and surfaces. Small batch production allows for quality over quantity and new designs to evolve naturally.
In 2020 I created the brand Token Home Goods to sell my ceramics and a selection of well designed goods for the home.

Christie Gruppe

I make functional pottery intended to bring a sense of fun and whimsy to the everyday. My pottery is covered in bold strokes of bright colour with drawn linework. I love to make small treasures such as earrings, necklaces, ornaments, and gnomes. I believe in the connection between maker and user and the Joy handmade pottery brings to our daily lives. All my work is made of a mid range porcelain and is dishwasher and microwave safe using food safe glazes.

Louise Harvey

I work with both stoneware and porcelain, primarily on the wheel. My functional pots are inspired by the world surrounding me on beautiful Georgian Bay. Pottery is my zen.

Unha Hill

Latest My work is inspired by nature’s Colors of sunset difference of the time .

Hette Hillsdon

I make things... it is what makes me, me. I have made stuff from fabric and yarn, even code, but making stuff from clay is the most fun! Usually, I hand build my pieces, sometimes I throw them on the potters' wheel. Each piece is unique! What can I make for you?

Barbara Imrisek

I enjoy creating functional earthenware, using both hand-built and wheel-thrown methods, drawing inspiration and motifs from nature. My work is designed to be down-to-earth, practical and charming. I'm frequently surprised by the directions that clay takes me, and look forward to exploring new paths of creation.

Jin-Hee Jun

I continue to work on ceramic sculpture and relief to express of my vision of life, like a journal about my circumstances, reflecting emotions in subject matter, but surface treatment and expression remain constant: handbuilt clay, texture exposed as is with a touch of stain added under light transparent glaze since 1980. Small pieces ;carved/inlaid/pierced, show emotions, inner peace landscapes and lives in nature.

Catherine Lackey

Hand sculpted porcelain jewelry you’ll want to wear every day. Promise. Handmade in my home studio in Hamilton, Ontario. Decorated in colourful, nontoxic glazes, and detailed with 22k gold lustre.

Jung-Do Lee

I've focused primarily on reviving the beauty of Korean stamped Buncheong ware in the modern manner for over the past 45 years. Of the various modeling qualities of Buncheong, I select the simplicity of its form as the main factor of work, infusing the delicacy of naturally stamped design and white slip inlaidpattern with a modern flair. Also express the natural beauty of color and texture by means of revealing the white slip surface. I inspire sympathy of all with the simple and rustic beauty of my pottery.

Mary MacDonald

Inspired by nature, the group of seven, and everyday life I have enjoyed creating ottery for three decades. My work is primarily wheel-thrown and some hand building. You will treasure and use these functional pieces I have confected for your pleasure, enjoy!

Tanya MacLean

I am Tanya MacLean creator of tMac Pottery, established in 2017 in my makeshift studio (AKA garage). My desire for functional pottery that is a pleasure to hold and behold is the guiding principle when I am designing pieces.
Wine glasses made to cradle comfortably in the palm of your hand with a thumb divot for extra comfort and grip. Mugs hourglass shaped with individually hand pulled handles which are a dream to hold. The combination of turquoise glaze and raw clay creates a dynamic esthetic. tMac Pottery - designed with style and comfort in mind.

Lisa Marcus

My work is inspired by my love for animals, cats especially and my interest in ancient and contemporary Pagan culture. My pottery often has mermaids, Goddesses, cats, trees and dragons sculpted on its surfaces. Popular items include Goddess goblets, mermaid mugs, Dragon bowls and cat pate dishes. All
of my work is stoneware and is dishwasher and microwave safe.

Dale Mark

I have been a potter for over twenty five years. I work with porcelain making wheel thrown functional pots fired in a reduction kiln. I am drawn to porcelain for its translucency, its delicateness and the way glazes respond to the clay; specifically, celadon and copper glazes. Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Greg Marshall

Making pieces in clay is a challenging, but satisfying way to indulge my artistic needs. With the encouragement of the studio technicians, I began working with porcelain and firing in the gas kiln about four years ago. I have been very pleased with the effects the reduction atmosphere has on the glaze surfaces at the higher temperatures. I am happy to use some of the pieces I make in my own home, but it brings me great pleasure when someone chooses my work to have in their home.

Jeff Martens

I create pottery pieces that function well with simple lines. I am interested in the tactile experience that people have using my work - it is important to me that a mug feels as great in the hands as it does on the lips. I love being a maker of things that bring people joy to look at and that they love to use.

Heidi McKenzie

I am an installation ceramic artist, but I moonlight as a potter. I work with coloured clay and minimal glaze (clear glaze linings) and make in two distinct lines: Windswept series are thrown porcelaneous stoneware; and Fossilware are slip cast porcelain. The colours on and in the pieces are coloured porcelains that I have mixed myself. The works are inspired by the nature. All dishwasher safe. All but the black bodied pieces are safe in the microwave. Please check out my website for inventory - and contact me by email to arrange porch viewing for selection and/or pick up.

Katherine Moffat

I love to explore the ephemeral nature of creativity and ideas, with one of the more permanent media in the arts - ceramics. My style is eclectic and full of variety, and I draw inspiration from many quarters, including everyday objects, nature, travel, current events, history and even activities like baking. The decoration of my thrown and handbuilt forms offers textures, colours and techniques that provoke fascination and joy in their eventual owners. All pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe.

Monique Mulder-Wallace

Made from durable, black stoneware, from my hands to yours The Avant-Garde Collection: Hand built vessels featuring abstract art, painted with underglazes. Colourful Original Contemporary

Richard Mund

Since 1997 my focus has been on making functional pottery. When I am creating, I try to make the surface feel fresh and rich in colour. My pieces are intended to be used in a domestic environment so I keep forms generally simple while being considerate of weight, attention to detail and surface form relationship. I draw cues from historic models and inject contemporary ideas/innovations. I always strive for the work to contain the energy and enthusiasm that each piece receives!

Joanne Paas

I enjoy sitting at the potter’s wheel and shaping clay into something that is both artistic and useful. My hand building is done at home where I can involve my grandchildren. Imagine my surprise when one of them shaped a turtle which I now use as my model. I have learned from well-known potters such as Peter Wilson from Australia, but mostly I enjoy working with other potters who come every week to the studio.

Neslihan Pakkal

Because of my love of nature and gardening, playing with clay and shaping it into something I can use gives me so much joy. I make my pots mostly on the wheel using stoneware and porcelain clays. I like to colour clay with Mason stains and create Swirlware pots. I also enjoy using Iznik Ottoman designs on my work. My favourite pieces are vases and functional ware.

Joseph Panacci

I do mostly functional/decorative porcelain pottery. Throwing on the wheel is still magical for me after forty years. The pursuit of a perfect form, a great glaze, and a challenging wood firing cycle is still a mystery for me. I love the idea of being a beginner, and learning with every step of the process. My inspiration comes mostly from my garden, and the surrounding landscape.

Pavlo Pottery

Pavlo Pottery is the work of two artists, Pavlo Tsarynny and Oksana Pogorila, who enjoy sharing their passion of working with clay for over 25 years. We create functional, one-of-a-kind pieces that can be used in everyday life. The ottery Studio is located in the small village of Rockton, Ontario Canada since 2007 and we are both proud and grateful to be a part of this wonderful community.

Olga Piedrahita

I love working with white or speckled stoneware in my small studio. My work is an exploration of form, colours and texture keeping in mind food safety and the minimalist lifestyle. My work is functional art for your simple pleasures!

Natalie Prévost

I have been a full time potter and teacher for over 20 years in Kitchener Ontario. My functional pottery is high-fired stoneware and this produces the most durable and functional pottery. I also make smoke fired work which is inspired by nature and the natural colours that come from being fired directly in an open fire.

Juliet Promnitz

Bespoke, handbuilt, stoneware ceramics, with detailed, rich surface decoration. Each piece is one of a kind.

Adriana Romkes

I am a local artist who grew up on the Niagara Escarpment. I am inspired by the spiritual or universal connection we have with nature and the environment. I wish to draw, paint, sculpt, photograph and write about it. I was inspired to make clay tile reliefs of a variety of birds or nature's flora & fauna when taking ceramic classes at DVSA. The owl sculptures began when I was visited by a Great Horned Owl in the fall of 2013 at my summer home and later my winter home. Delving into the totem meaning of owls fuelled my passion for these magnificent birds of prey. These owls are my initial foray into sculpting with clay. Each owl sculpture is a one-of-a-kind, with own distinct unique personality, and characteristics.

Heather Russell

My designs are inspired by an affinity with nature, displaying soft curves, hues and shades. Similar to the flora and fauna that reappear each spring, each piece is functional for everyday life, designed to be enjoyed and a one of a kind. My work is either wheel thrown or hand built using stoneware, porcelain or earthen ware. Castlereagh Pottery is located just north of the village of St. George and open by appointment.

Jaclyn Ryan

Handcrafted wares for your everyday rituals. Jacpot pottery creates unique and
modern tableware and home decor. Inspire by nature and tattoo imagery.

Bunny Safari

Working as a full time production potter for the past twenty years has enabled me to combine my use of film photography in an exploration of form and design. Using stoneware clays fired in an electric kiln, I can replicate my darkroom imagery and integrate my collection of vintage maps and letterpress into pieces that celebrate the past while being relevant in the here and now. All of my work is kiln fired three times.

Monika Schaefer

I have been a potter for over 22 years and create both functional and dysfunctional works for home and garden. I love lots of colour (purple is my current favourite), and many of my garden pieces are very colourful.
I make many, many (too many?) different things with clay. I have a lot of fun creating. I also enjoy teaching others some of the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years. I can only showcase a few items here, but I welcome visitors to my studio to see the full range (with full Covid protocols, of course).

Sara Scheuemann

Steaped Slow Ceramics are a unique art form in that they bring beauty to objects which can be used everyday. They invite you to slow down and appreciate the little gifts of life. I incorporate both contemporary and traditional influences in my design. Each piece features clean, modern lines married with colourful and complex glaze combinations. My work is inspired by nature, land and seascapes which are subtly referenced in the glaze patterns.

Melissa Schooley

Handmade porcelain celebrating the art of fine craft. Classy, sassy, and a little smart-assy.

Trudy Schulz

I work with porcelain because of the purity and whiteness of this clay body. It also lends itself well to piercing, incising, and decorating with coloured slips and ceramic pencils. The simplicity of the clear-glazed white porcelain showcases the colours of the flowers or food that the vessels will contain, but I strive to
create unique elements that also allow the pots to stand on their own as decorative pieces. The button and zipper pots were originally designed for the Fashion History Museum, a must-visit local attraction!

Indira Singh

My work is both functional and decorative. Each piece is handmade and individually signed. I strive to produce pieces that have strength and stability. I love working with texture and colours. Hope you enjoy my work in your home as much as I enjoy making it.

Stewart Smith

I suppose my work in clay is another way of looking at "I was here", with some focus on "here". It's a way of underlining my contentment with being among wildflowers, escarpments, pebble beaches and the clay that droops from a creek bank. I appreciate that discord between our desire for symmetry and the long journey taken with rain, wind and time that shapes all things.

Paul Stewart

I work with porcelain because I love the bright vibrant colour palette that is possible. I have been pointing full time for 35 years and still love sitting at the wheel and having the chance to create. I make work designed to be used and cherished.

Josephine Tam

I chanced upon pottery when my husband and I bought a house with a ceramic studio that had been producing pottery since late 1940s. Since then, I took lessons with numerous great potters to learn the skills and techniques. I make a wide range of functional pottery and decorative adornments. Every piece is special with its unique colors and contours. I enjoy the process and how my work connects me with people.

Barb Taylor

My inspiration for my pottery comes from different cultures around the world and through the ages. How people found ways of using clay for their everyday needs. The pieces I make, I make because the unglazed clay is beneficial to the performance of the piece. I think of my pottery as practical Art.

Donna Thomson

My passion is raku, smoke and high fired pieces. Work may be found at the Paris Bohemian Gallery or at my Turtles Nest Pottery studio by appointment.

Jillian Toplack-Watson

I produce wheel thrown and hand built pottery at my home studio in Hamilton. I feel that the items you use everyday should be comfortable and beautiful. As a result, most of my work is functional, with an eye to elegance and simplicity.

Paul van Raay

As a student of pottery, I try to experiment with all the possibilities clay has to offer. I am especially drawn to age. I am attracted to things that are, or seem to be, old (old buildings, old people, old music and stories). I want my pots to come out of the kiln to look like they have already existed. I also like things with lids - I think they add mystery and anticipation to the pot.

Greg Voisin

Each piece is handmade in my home studio. The hand drawn images are meant to warm your heart as much as they are meant to warm your leftovers.

Daphne Wang

I create clay objects as a way to distill and share experiences. Clay is my playground, my yoga mat, my wholesome earthy sourdough. I hope my work would be a piece of poetry for your artful, unique space and lifestyle.

Sophie Wang

I'm currently working on the "Inspiration" series of functional work. To make peace between my Chinese past and my Canadian present, I keep on writing and potting. Every once in a while, a streak of inspiration twinkles at me from one world or the other.

Frances Ward

I am a mixed and multi-media artist who has been working with clay since 2012 and I continue to find it challenging and rewarding. With grey stoneware clay fired to cone 6, I focus on creating hand built “one of” functional and ornamental objects such as bowls, platters, tiles and jewelry in mostly earthy tones.

Tammy Ward

My main body of work is function pottery in blues and greens with dragonflies and bees in sprig form. I also enjoy the whimsical side of life with pottery for the garden in the form of birdfeeders and birdhouses. My East Coast heritage also shows up with Jellybean Row inspired tealights and feeders in bright and cheery colours.

Fiona Wheelband

Hand made pottery has the ability to make your everyday meals into a little art festival. I hope that my functional wheel thrown and electric fired wares, can make some moments of your day just a bit more fun!

Laurie Woods

I like to make slab and wheel thrown pottery in white or red stoneware, firing at cone 6. My inspiration for design and colour is waking up every day with views of Lake Huron. Pristine waters, sandy beaches, and cascading trees changing colour as the sun moves through the sky is breathtaking. My style is mostly functional with some pieces influenced by the seasons, travel or my Celtic roots.

Jeanne Yardley

I make memories in clay through wheel thrown and hand built pottery, using found object imprints, image transfers and prints, and brushed on underglazes. My work has been called playful and whimsical, and I do have fun making it and find peace through the work. For 20 years my goal has been to accurately interpret scale, texture, and detail in the world around me, in order to reveal in clay the stories and memories embedded in the ordinary.

Sonja Zanuttini

All my pottery is a high fired stoneware. I make all my own glazes and meet all standards required by the HPG. Have been potting for over 35 yrs and have been doing the guild show for 32yrs. Many customers have bought from me at the Ball's Falls Thanksgiving Show. Inspired totally through nature.

Barb and Ron Zimmermann

Ron and Barb Zimmermann have been creating unique stoneware pottery in their Niagara-on-the-Lake garden studio since 1989. Inspired by orchards, vineyards and the cool blue of Lake Ontario, their work is about transforming simple wares into things of beauty.

Sandra Zuidema

Pottery is my source of expression and provides a view inside my world. I graduated from Redeemer University College with an Education degree and a major in Fine Arts. During my years of teaching and raising my four children, I took pottery lessons from a local potter, and discovered a deep joy in creating with clay. I find my inspiration through my teaching, through a love of architecture whose designs repeat themselves in my pots, through the windows of my church that flood the space with light. My pots are windows into my life, what I love, who I am.
