Marina Van Raay is a Canadian and Japanese ceramic artist based in Hamilton, Ontario. She is a graduate of the Craft and Design Program at Sheridan College and is currently a full-time artist in residence at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. Rooted in nostalgia and cultural memory, her practice reflects on childhood experiences. Inspired by the vibrant maximalism of the 2000s Harajuku culture, Marina embraces play as both process and design, exploring excessive adornment, layering, and the fusion of styles. marinavanraay.com @fummmia
