September 9, 2019 Speakers Amber Zuber and Adrianna Romkes
Amber Zuber has just returned from Kohila, Estonia where she attended the Kohila symosium, an international wood firing residency in its 19th year. Nine artists fired an anagama for four days and a bourry-box for three. Making the work in five days made for a fast and very busy residency which ended in an outdoor exhibition. Amber received an MA (Ceramics) from the Royal College of Art, has a BA in History from McMaster University and studied Ceramics at Sheridan College. As well she was an Artist-in-Residence at Harbourfront Centre. Visit Amber www.amberzuber.com and Kohila www.kohilasymposium.com
Adriana Romkes is a local artist inspired by the spiritual and universal connection we have with nature and the environment. Through her work she will illustrate what's involved in the creation of large scale sculptural pieces. Adriana has received diplomas from Sheridan College, Mohawk, and DVSA. Her work has been exhibited across Ontario and in 2017 she had a solo show at the Carnegie Gallery.
